Aircraft Setup<\/h2>\n

The app allows you to store a dozen aircraft. Pre-saving an aircraft saves time when assembling a GenDec or GAR \u2014 you select it from a list and all the details fill in automatically.<\/em><\/p>\n

\n

What information is needed?<\/h3>\n

The authorities want to know the registration, make\/model, and where the aircraft is usually based. Some authorities also ask whether the aircraft is tax-paid (in free circulation) in their territory and whether it is under 8,000kg \u2014 but these fields are usually not mandatory.<\/p>\n

The most important information is who is responsible for this aircraft<\/strong> \u2014 this could be the owner, operator, charterer, or renter. Where these differ, it is the person responsible for that specific flight that is required. The name of a trust which nominally owns the aircraft is not sufficient.<\/p>\n

Where there are multiple owners, the responsible person would usually be the lead owner. If this cannot be determined, save multiple versions of the same aircraft with different Person Responsible<\/em> entries.<\/p>\n

Adding an aircraft<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
You can add an aircraft in two ways:<\/p>\n
    \n
  • Before creating a declaration<\/strong> \u2014 tap Manage Aircraft Lists<\/strong> (item 2 on the main menu). This saves the aircraft permanently for future use.<\/li>\n
  • While creating a declaration<\/strong> \u2014 on the Aircraft tab tap Add Aircraft<\/strong> then Add<\/strong> top right. This is intended for ad hoc or hire aircraft \u2014 the entry can be used for a one-off declaration and deleted afterwards.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    To add a permanent aircraft, tap Manage Aircraft Lists<\/strong> from the main menu. Your saved aircraft appear as a list \u2014 first time around the list will be empty.<\/p>\n

    Tap Add<\/strong> in the top right of the navigation bar.<\/td>\n

The aircraft entry form<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
The entry form is a scrolling screen \u2014 not all fields are visible at once. Scroll down to see all fields.<\/p>\n

  • Registration<\/strong> \u2014 enter WITHOUT hyphens (e.g. GABCD not G-ABCD)<\/li>\n
  • Aircraft type<\/strong> \u2014 select from the ICAO aircraft code drop-down, or enter free form<\/li>\n
  • Base<\/strong> \u2014 select from the ICAO airfield list (e.g. EGKB for Biggin Hill). If your base has a designated agreement but no ICAO code it may appear in the pick list \u2014 choose that in preference to a free-form entry. For non-ICAO bases outside the UK, add the country code to the name.<\/li>\n
  • Free circulation \/ under 8,000kg<\/strong> \u2014 relevant to UK only, not mandatory<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/td>\n

  • Enter family name \/ surname<\/strong> separately from forenames \u2014 on smaller screens this may not be obvious<\/li>\n
  • Contact details are mandatory, as are postcode and country<\/li>\n
  • Country is chosen from a drop-down list of ISO country codes<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    Note:<\/strong> when saving an aircraft to your stored list, mandatory fields can be left blank without a warning. The validation warning only appears when you try to include an aircraft with missing details in an actual declaration submission.<\/p>\n

    Note:\u00a0<\/strong>you may add a person responsible by clicking on the ‘from contacts’ link. This will take you to your phone\/tablet contacts. On Desktop because the desktop app cannot see your ‘contacts’ in same way as a phone, you will only see persons you have already added to your crew\/pax lists. Also worth noting that given the way in which people save their contacts (e.g. name often a nickname, or family name not in structured contacts field) then the import from contacts often does not populate comprehensively<\/p>\n

    The aircraft saves automatically when you exit using the back arrow<\/strong> on the navigation bar. Alternatively tap Discard<\/strong> on the navigation bar or the Delete<\/strong> button at the bottom of the form to abandon.<\/td>\n

Managing your aircraft list<\/h3>\n\n\n\n
Return to Manage Aircraft Lists<\/strong> at any time to edit or delete a saved aircraft.<\/p>\n

Tap on any aircraft in the list \u2014 a popup will appear offering Delete<\/strong> or Edit<\/strong>. Editing uses the same form as above.<\/td>\n
