PprPal/Manifest6 has been developed to enhance the service of OnlineGAR.com but also to address other issues such as preparing declarations for other jurisdictions and importing information from outside sources. OnlineGar.com is a subscriptions service competing with a free service from the UK Border Force and as such its future is in doubt. We hope the value added of PprPal/Manifest6 will lead more users to use this OnlineGar helper but if it is useful, then please consider making a donation.
OnlineGAR.com is a ‘client/server” web service. You store your confidential details on OnlineGAR’s servers. That has a considerable cost associated with it. PPRPal/Manifest6 avoids storing data on servers and simply checks information before passing it on to the relevant authority. All your confidential info is saved on your own device. This means we can avoid expensive servers and bring the cost down considerably. It still costs to run so please consider a small donation [note: during the test period you may register as a donor or sponsor and take advantage of all features. When it goes live some features such as synchronisation between mobile and desktop will only be available to sponsors and donors]
Being essentially a ‘pro bono’ app there are no resources to provide support services and we cannot promise to answer individual queries.
you may email us at info@mygar.net but we can not promise a rapid response due to the part time circumstance of the authors.
Frequently Asked Questions
Have questions? We have answers.
Is PprPal.online live yet?
PprPal.online is not yet live for use with UK Border Force. When it becomes live it will meet the new UKBF submission regulations (notification of travel status etc) However PprPal will create forms for other jurisdictions which can be emailed . These include Ireland, Isle of Man, Guernsey, Jersey, Belgium, Netherlands. YOu may download the app for dessktop and mobile and experience the full facilities. It will transmit GAR forms as if it were live but they will not count as a ‘real’ submission
Can I use the Dropbox or other Cloud service ?
PprPal/Manifest6 is still in test mode. to use one of the cloud services (Dropbox, Google Drive, One Drive,iCloud) you would need to contact us for a test account. Once PprPal/Manifest6 becomes live your own personal account will suffice. During test phase some cloud services will be unavailable
Do I have to have an OnlineGAR account to use PprPal ?
No – you will simply be asked to register on the MyGar.net or PPRPal.online site (same place) then put your username and password into the settings tab of the app and off you go. Before the closure of Onlinegar.com we hope to transfer all currently registered members automatically, though it may not be possible to move over your confidential data. – a work in progress
Can I import journey details from my flight planning software?
PprPal will take a saved Flight Plan from, for example SkyDemon, and populate the journey segment of the GAR. Import from Autorouter is also available with an Autorouter account. PprPal can also read flight-plans from EasyVFR and Rocketroute. Garmin pilot and Foreflight can export a flight priefing in pdf format which can be read by PprPal
How does PprPal/Manifest6 input ID detail such as passports and what security is there?
It has become common to be asked to send a photo of your passport. Banks, lawyers even health organisations do it. This results in sensitive ID information proliferating. The practice wont stop but individuals should take care to delete multiple copies of their ID. PprPal/Manifest6 can read a scan of a passport and enter the details into the GAR declaration form. It will then remove the image once read. This protects the user and also any crew or passengers the user is responsible for. PprPal/Manifest6 can also import personal information by reading a ‘VCF’ file. Common phone contact apps have the ability to share contact detail which can be sent as a vcf file. If passport numbers are added in a strict format these can be read in – details can be stored in the contacts of the user of PprPal in an encrypted form
