The apps of necessity are condensed and on smaller devices and, no doubt, cramped. However when you get used to it they are quick and slick to use and manage your declarations. But it requires a little investment of time

Because of that we have allowed the user to practice sending a gar end to end to see what it is like.

Remember this is not the same as the old GAR especially if you are carrying non UK/IRL passport holders. Not only will you receive the usual GAR-receipt but there will be a screen which gives information on the visa status of all pax on the trip.

It is very  important to understand that even if positive this is NOT any authority to enter UK, it is simply information. The commander of the trip is solely responsible for ‘landing’ any person carried. You will have agreed to these terms when you set up membership.
There are other sources to test the validity of a passenger’s credentials such as the online ETA system. Beyond just submitting a GAR you are strongly advised to check passports (they may display an old valid visa for example yet the system could report ‘no information’   Call this number (commander only) if there is any doubt +44 300 369 0610 or +44 204 619 6020.  Do not call these numbers in connection with testing or general GAR trip queries – only for personnel queries

Because there is this added complexity it is worth trying to construct GAR’s with real data so that you are familiar with the new processes

To that end you may submit up to 10 test gars
DO NOT SUBMIT THEM UNDER YOUR OWN USERNAME – they will be treated as ‘live’
ALWAYS CHECK WHEN SENDING A TEST GAR THAT THE FLAG ON THE MAIN SCREEN SAYS ‘TEST MODE’

These ‘test’ declarations will be saved and shown on your Declaration list (Select ‘Create/review’)   If you change modes to LIVE by putting in you genuine membership credentials then these are still available to send LIVE  – but only if youve also cancelled them in test mode  – you cannot create a test, change to LIVE they will not cancel. Also if not cancelled you cannot resend them LIVE
